More Connections for Folktails Ziplines, cable switching station hub
In Update 7, Ziplines were added for Folktails. Comparing this mod of transport to the Tubes of Iron teeth, its not nearly as flexible. If you increase the number of allowed connections this removes this issue. The alternative is to add a specialized building that allows for increased connections.

Andrew Mergedi love the new transportation buildings, i wish they had more connections. To balance it you can make a central hub that can connect to up to 8, but must be powered. maybe increase the standard zipline buildings to three connections as well? Trying to make an efficient wheel hub pattern is had with the first version. Love the update and the game. thanks!!!

Sankycurrently tube has become essentially a powered elevator that match the u7 vertical farm.
special zipline station that required power but can send beaver up 90 degree and shorter range
vertical pylon that extend sideway which meant for vertical climb for zipline, also shorter range compare to normal 1 -

Anton MergedA huge and expensive building that acts like a zip line pillar with multiple connections. Maybe some kind of platform to build new connections on.

Alexandra MergedHello! First of all I really enjoy your game and am a playing it since the 2nd major update. I wanted to share my appreciation as welll as suggest someting to improve with Folktails in update 7. My suggestion would be to make Zipline stations up to at least 3 connections. I can understand that the connecting pillars have 2 connections, but the stations cost more as well as are more important in the game, and this current way allows to make only circular travel systems. Having an option of an additional travel way will make zipline travel more fun and strategic. Just a slight suggestion!)

Faith MergedAdd a new zipline building that is 1 per district for FT's, where it can connect up to 8 lines. (One per direction, N, NW, W, SW, S, SE, E, NE) It would help bring ziplines more in line with the IT faction.

kevin MergedHi everyone!
Isn't it great? The addition of ziplines and speed tubes is such a breath of fresh air for the game!
That said, I’ve noticed a few things that could use improvement:
Horizontal cables feel a bit pointless
Other than allowing you to cross over obstacles where you normally couldn’t build, I don’t really see any strong gameplay use for them. Maybe they could use some additional functionality or better integration?
Only two cables per station? Really?!
That’s just not enough. I think each station should have three poles, allowing for up to six cables (2 per pole), or at the very least increase the limit to three cables per station. That would seriously help with network design and efficiency.
Right now, if we compare with Hardteeth, their transport solutions are way more effective — easily 50% better in terms of flexibility and throughput.
Let’s bring that same level of optimization to the cable systems.
More cables = more options = more fun!

Mr_Bob_BobingtonAnother consideration is as well as/rather than just a much larger zipline station, the possibility to “upgrade” the already placed zipline building adding a further connection or two (adding a second ring above it for example).
This ability to “upgrade” a building could also be used as a feature for other structures such as zipline pylon (as the above station or splitting it into a fork style structure with two separate connections), tapper’s shack adds another worker slot, larger water pump with a power attachment for either assisted and/or full pumping automaton…etc. I think it would open up the possibilities for long, long term future proof planning without necessarily needing to tear down/rearrange but still has a resource cost. -

Inky MergedI would love to be able to add more than 2 connections to a zipline station. That way I could create a network of ziplines similar to a metro network.

Diablo4711I would like to see at least one zipline-connection more as Henry suggested at 2025-05-18 to balance it with the pipelines - the pipes may cost more ressources and you have to build on stable underground, but they have twice the speed and you could add a connection at any segment of the pipeline, which makes them - in my opinion - a bit more flexible. you could add, for example stations on every level of a "mountain" with just one single pipeline which connects all stations, but you have to reroute every zipline back and forth for every level, because of the angle. With 3 connections we could at least support 2 level with a single pole/station.

R2-De-Tah-D2Even if you don't add a transportation hub type building, at least consider adding zipline pylons in the standard 1, 2, and 3 sizes that are stackable like platforms. We would at least have the flexibility to branch off. No one, outside of Josh from LetsGameItOut, wants zipline spaghetti!!!
P.s Don't get rid of the zipline beams there are use cases for them. -

R2-De-Tah-D2Edit button doesn't work. After a little more thought and play testing I've changed my opinion.
The ziplines are fine the way that they are. Everything that everyone wants to do above is absolutely possible in the current game.
zipline pylons of varying heights would be nice but not mandatory.
please don't remove zipline beams -

egg-man MergedCurrently, the 2-connection limit on Zip-line pylons forces linear "daisy-chain" layouts, which waste space and make complex logistics difficult to manage.
I propose increasing this connection limit (or adding a specific "Logistics Hub" pylon) that allows 4 or more connections from a single point.
This would enable players to create centralized distribution centers that can send and receive goods in multiple directions simultaneously, greatly improving the efficiency and visual organization of Folktail districts. -

Ravenmad MergedI found this thread but it was a bit to complex for an up vote. https://timberborn.featureupvote.com/suggestions/614103/more-connections-for-folktails-ziplines-cable-switching-station-hub
My idea (hopefully simple-ish ) would to make Zipline Station 3 way but not zipline pylons. This way You can make a ring road of zipline stations and then add a spur off one of the station to another ring or just off to part of the map you need to use temporally. I don't think any of the maps are big enough for a lot of stuff as in the thread above and would hopefully be simpler to implement.
Thank for reading this and great game :) -

lime MergedMake the zipline station support four-way connections. That way, it will be less tedious to plan and move around the settlement. You can keep the zipline beams as two-way connections, which makes sense, but for the stations, I suppose they could have the technology to allow four-way in-and-out connections.
Alternatively, you could make a 3×3 station that is bigger and slightly more expensive to build, but allows four directions. Then, make the normal zipline station cheaper by reducing its range and speed. The advanced one could have 150% movement speed, while the normal one would stay at 100%.
This way you could make the movement of the factions a bit more equilibrated, cause now the ironteeth way feels more comfortable to use. -

Jason Blyde MergedLike Title says, cable carts for Folktail are only 2 way, wich only makes you able to make loops. a 3 way (bigger) connection can bring these loops together.
this would increase creativity with how to build cable connections, instead of putting 2 stations next to each other for basically the same benefit. -

biscuitsYes, I very much agree. Currently, the zip line station can only link two cableways. This results in the fact that if I want to construct new trails, I need to repeatedly build new zip line stations, which is very space-consuming. How I wish it could be possible to upgrade the system to link more than two cableways.Just like the shanghai subway
