Resource Display should show 0 zero unit amounts once its relevant.
Currently if a resource runs out to 0 amount it gets hidden on the UI until it becomes available again.
I think it is good design that the game does not clutters the UI with resource types the colony never had access to before, but once the colony created said resource, the display should keep it up even if it runs out of stock, including on the display of other districts.
This was a problem with my last play through, that this makes it very hard to track the different food items. There are around 10 now, and I cannot tell on a glance, which ones should I increase the production of, because 0 stocks get hidden, and there are a lot of them.

Please show the items in the list even if zero. Because, then when viewing the list of a given item in a given district, I can tell whether or not I have a warehouse assigned to that item in that district. -

FuryoftheStarsThere should perhaps be a way to mark the ones you actually care about. Cause at some point, you don’t care about berries anymore (as FT), and so tracking them at 0 quantity is a waste of space.

Gin Fuyou AdminI had similar idea, I suggest displaying zero resources when they are needed.
For example if current stock is zero:
1. District ever had resource in stock and it can be used for construction or direct consumption (e.g. books, medicine, bonus foods)
2. Resource required for existing construction site (you've placed an engine, but you don't have metal, metal blocks appears and highlighted in the UI)
3. Resource is required for active production chain.
Blueberries is excluded from #1 as they don't give bonus, but still can be displayed for #3 if you have IronT pod active. -

Richard MergedCurrently, if I have 0 of any particular resource, it is not shown at all in the lists at the top of the UI. That is fine at the beginning when I've not even started thinking about most of the resources, but once I have started to place and assign storage for some resource, I always want to see how many of it I have, *especially* if I only have 0.

FireStormOOO MergedCame here to make a similar suggestion; 0's on a resource that either has consumers or storage are very important and should not be omitted from the lists. Storage is maybe debatable, but if the resource is outgoing in distribution post or consumed by a building in the district definitely show it.

TomSo I had a slightly different take on this; but I have a different version of 'relevant' -- frankly sometimes there is a resource I want to watch and I'd like to decide if it should be visible or not. FOR EXAMPLE, If I just started growing potatoes I kind of expect the # of potatoes to go up and down. So I might not care so much about ensuring it's there because I am expecting massive fluctuations. However, once I'm pretty sure my potato stream should be enough to keep storages full, I would want to be able to mark "potatoes" as "always visible" or something so that way at a glance I can see if it's 0.
I spent lots of time looking at my resource bars and I generally expect them to all be full, however there is currently no difference in the game between a FULL bar and a missing bar. two very different concepts :) lol -

Erik Schwanke MergedWhen empty, resources vanish from the list. This is confusing to me because I have to look extra hard to see if I do not have e.g. gears available or am just overlooking them.
Proposal: Show a resource in the list with count 0 after it was first put in the list. This makes the UI more consistent. -

Wawa MergedFor the top menu with the the items list, it will be helpful to show a list with all the items and include a zero for the missing items instead of removing them from the list. That will help players identify what is missing (still need to build) easier. I accidentally removed my metal gathering post and I didn't realize it until many of shop/process/build have stopped working.

Aron MergedI think there should be an option to display items that ran out!
if there is no item available of a certain type, they just don't show up, which can be confusing!
Instead, I think there should be an option to always show current count of all items THAT HAVE DESIGNATED STORAGE!
we don't want to overwhelm the users with full bar, but if they had set up a storage, it means they are likely to know when they are running out! -

Andrew MergedThis is a bug, I can send a game save if it helps, but attached is a picture in case you want to dig into it. I started the game before the recent update if that matters.

Harrison MergedQoL improvement. The positive information of seeing a 0 in the top-left materials list lets you know immediately you have none of that item; as opposed to needing to scan through every item in the materials list to find out what's missing, which requires you to first consider that you might be low/missing an item.

John MergedIt would be nice if my items would show zero quantity instead of dissapearing off the drop down menu when i run out of them. There are lots of items to craft in game and its hard to memorize them all. Sometimes i run out of an item and dont realize it because it is no longer in the drop down menu at the top of the game window. (Planks, Gears, Bad water ect)

David MergedOnce an item is unlocked, when you run out of it, it should stay on the list as 0. I often don't notice if I'm out of planks or cassavas, but if I look up and it is low, I fix it. But if it's at 0 it just disappears so I don't notice.

sheep eater MergedIt would be nice to be able to show the complete list of ingredients at all times instead of disappearing from the list when you have 0 of them. I find that it's important to quickly determine that you have run out of a particular resource at a glance rather than trying to scan the list for what icon is missing especially since it refreshes every few seconds.

Peter34 MergedCurrently if I have zero of a resource, even a resource I used to have such as Blueberries, the count simply disappears from my resource lists, at the top left corner of the screen.
In some cases that's fine. I used to make Bots, but then I decided I didn't like them, so I stopped making them, Alt+Del deleted all remaining Bot Limbs/Heads/Chasses (Chassises?), and now they no longer clutter up my UI. But in a few cases I very much would like a big fat highly visible zero, e.g. to remind me that my Blueberry situation is dire and my Ironteeth are going to be in big trouble if I don't do anything about it.
So essentially a long list of checkmarks so that I can toggle "Show always" on for Blueberries, or really for all the foods that I care to produce. -
